Decorating Information

Dynamic decorating achieves a powerful impact. Knowing the options available to you, and following these guidelines for artwork preparation, can help assure your decorating makes a lasting impression that's just right for your organization.

Artwork Requirements


Our products are your palate! Submit your original artwork for a one-of-a-kind look.

Electronic Art

  • Platform: MAC/PC.
  • File types: CorelDraw X3, Illustrator CS3.
  • File formats: Native vector files in .ai, .cdr, .pdf, .eps, .ps, .svg.
      • All elements must be vector with fonts converted to curves.
      • Minimum resolution / file format for non-vector files: 300 dpi / .tif.
  • Non-acceptable file formats: .doc, .gif, .html, .jpg, .png, .psd.

Embroidery
To prepare a tape for embroidery, art must be digitized.

  • Acceptable disk formats: .dst, .pxf, .pof, .emb, .exp, .psf, .pes, .fmc, .fdr.
  • Re-digitizing (new tape) is required for any resizing greater than 20%.
  • Artwork created for other items (such as T-shirts) may not be suitable for use on Toppers products; artwork for 6-panel caps must be digitized.
  • For color match, please specify thread color number; Corvest will match as closely as possible.

File compression

  • Stuffit (MAC); Winzip (PC).

Transmission

  • Art is recommended to be e-mailed as an attachment along with your P.O. to orders@corvest.com. Please include company name and P.O. # in the subject line.
  • 3.5" floppy or Zip disk also accepted -- one disk for each order.
  • When sending art via mail or e-mail, correspondence must include: company name and address, P.O. #, name of sender/contact, e-mail address, phone, fax and industry I.D. # (UPIC, ASI, PPAI, etc.).

Camera-Ready Art
Corvest accepts mailed in "camera-ready art"; this format is subject to review and may incur an art charge. Art must be flat, hi-resolution, black and white line art, to size.

  • Minimum type size: 4pt.
  • Art must be color-separated with proper registration marks; one piece for each color.
  • To have artwork returned, you must include an addressed return envelope with proper postage with your request. Artwork will be retained for a rolling 13-month period, then discarded.

Standard Fonts
All fonts must be converted to outlines (curves) to avoid font substitutions.

  • Plain: Arial, Avant Garde, Franklin Gothic, Helvetica.
  • Serif: Benguiat, Cooper Black, Souvenir, Times Roman.
  • Script: Brush Script, Lucida Calligraphy, Monotype Corsiva, Viner Hand.
  • Specialty: Comic Sans, Curlz MT, Ravie, College.
  • If typesetting is required, indicate layout instructions (centered, flush left/right, all caps, upper/lower case, etc.) or art will be prepared for best appearance/printing on item. Paper proof recommended when typesetting.

Art Charges

  • Formats that may incur an art charge: Word files, Power Point, Photoshop, .gif, .jpg, .tif.
  • Customers will be notified in advance of any additional charges.
  • Quotes for art charges are available from our Art Department prior to placing orders.
  • Add one day to standard lead-time for orders with art charges.

Miscellaneous

  • Unless otherwise specified, artwork will be sized to fit the maximum area and placed in the normal location.
  • Unless otherwise stated on the order, Corvest reserves the right to stack copy to achieve the best appearance for your imprint.
  • Orders requesting custom imprints without acceptable artwork will NOT be eligible for special rush production services.
  • Artwork will be held on file for 13 months. Repeat orders submitted after that time will require new artwork.

Corvest offers the latest in decorating technology to make your name stand out and your message endure.

Screen Printing & Pad Printing
Single-color? Multi-color? No problem! Screen printing and pad printing looks great, whether the design is straightforward and simple, or vibrant and vivid. All pricing includes a 1-color, 1-location imprint, unless otherwise specified. Set-up/screen charges are not included.

Set-Up Charges (per color and/or location)

  • Pens, Pocket Lights & Key-Ring Lights: $30 (G)
  • Stuffed Animal Accessories: $37.50 (G)
  • All other products: $45 (G)
  • Ink Color Change within a Min Qty Run: $30 (G)

Set-Up charges waived for exact reorders placed within 13 months of original order.

Additional Color / Location Run Charges (per unit)

  • Pens, Pocket Lights & Key-Ring Lights: $0.10 (G)
  • Stuffed Animal Accessories: $0.20 (G)
  • All other products: $ 0.45 (G)
  • Specialty Screen Print (foil, sublimation, etc.): $0.63 (G)

Lead Time
Unless otherwise specified, turnaround times for all screen printed and pad printed merchandise is as follows (add 3 days for production proofs):

  • Single-color: 5 business days from artwork being approved for catalog quantities.
  • Multi-color: 6 business days from artwork being approved for catalog quantities.

Minimum Quantities
Published minimum quantity applies. For less than minimum, a charge of $45.00 (G) will apply. LTM must be at least 1/2 of published minimum quantity.

Miscellaneous Charges and Information

  • Individual numbering: $4.00 (G) each item.
  • For 4-color process/halftones and percentage colors, please contact our customer care department for detailed guideline sheets.
  • Double hit: Recommended when printing light colors on dark canvas, call for pricing.

Standard Imprint Colors
The below color swatches are provided for reference only. Due to inconsistencies in computer screens, these swatches should not be relied upon for accurate color matching. Non-standard colors: add $50.00 (G) for orders of specified catalog quantity. Please submit Pantone Color Standard number or color sample on coated stock when ordering/re-ordering non-standard colors.

  • Edits to Existing Tape: $31.25 (G)
  • Personalization: $18 (G)

Additional Location / Stitch Count Run Charges (per unit)

  • Initial Run Charge -- all qtys (for items where embroidery is NOT the standard decoration method): $1.69 (G) per location, up to 7,500 Stitches
  • Additional Run Charge (for all embroidered items): $0.30 (G) per location, per 1,000 stitches over 7,500
  • Personalization
    • 1st line: $4.00 (G)

Text smaller than 3/16" is deemed illegible and is not permitted.

Lead Time
Unless otherwise specified, turnaround times for all embroidered merchandise is 10 business days from artwork approval for catalog quantities (add 3 days for production proofs).

Lead Time
Unless otherwise specified, turnaround times for all merchandise with metal logos is 4 weeks from artwork approval for catalog quantities (add 3 days for production proofs).

Minimum Quantities
Published product minimum quantity applies plus 72 metal logos. Unused balance is inventoried at Toppers. Less than minimum is not available for metal logos.

Artwork & Production Charges

Art Charges
All art charges by quote only.

Proofs
Black/White Electronic Proof (aka Paper Proof): $12.00 (G)

Virtual Sample: $12.00 (G) when created by our art department, free when you create your own on our websites.

Production Proof: $40.00 (G) plus price of item, screen charges and shipping. We may require a production proof due to the complexity of artwork and/or size of order. If a production proof is required, screen charges will be applied to your order if no further alterations occur.

Samples
Self Promo (PSA): EQP minus 40% plus screen charges and shipping.
Spec Sample: EQP minus 40% plus screen charges and shipping. Limit 3 samples per style.
Random Sample: EQP minus 25% plus shipping.
